Remember why you started | I am blessed

This is in continuation to my previous blog where I had written about how we forget our purpose in between. We all are working to be happy ultimately and when we are happy, we are in the position to spread happiness because we can only give what we own. God has glorified our lives by blessing us with one or the other gift. The very first thought after waking up and the last thought before sleeping should be “I am blessed.”

Happiness is all that we are looking for ultimately. To feel happy, to feel loved, to feel blessed. All of us are blessed in one way or another. This is the reason we can get past our difficulties and move forward in life.

In life, we start well, we put so many efforts into starting so many things that at one point it becomes hard to keep up with everything together. Similar things are happening in my life as well. Kind of balancing between work (to tell those who do not know- I am a Clinical Research Associate who monitors clinical trials happening at various hospitals- a completely different arena from the topics that I touch in my writings), homework (because when you are working from home, your home chores go along and it’s hard to ignore at times) and writing (writing feels good, it’s the promotion part which I hate, maybe that’s the thing I am not good at.) Consistency is one of the key points in anything that we do. Whether it’s work or passion. We feel worn out if we are not consistent because later on to keep up with our deadlines and expectations we have to double up the efforts. If the results are not desirable, we lose all hopes and become purposeless. When you are passionate about something, you should not get tired of doing it as passion is something that gives you peace of mind amidst all chaos.

In the efforts of balancing between the different role plays- you forget that you owe something to yourself as well. I have touched upon self-time and self-love in my previous blogs. You owe yourself some self-time. Maybe you can just sit all by yourself sometimes and have some much-needed conversations. I do that less often. But that’s something I need to practice more often.

Instead of dipping down to a lower level, challenge yourself in keeping up to the level that you have initially set for yourself to achieve. When you think about dropping what you started, just think once why you started. Once you get that answer, I think you would not want to stop it.

Stop cribbing so much in life. We try becoming ‘someone else’ in life. A little happier. A little more contented. A little more successful. A little wealthier. But is there a full stop to all these desires? The answer is a plain ‘No.’

Who wants less in life? There is always more to achieve because that is also something that keeps our lives motivated. Wanting to live more. But our problem is that we look at the plate the other person is holding and do not appreciate what is on our plates. Idea is to know how worthy you are. How blessed you are. And how important your life is. When you are cribbing here, harassing yourself, there is somebody else who is wanting to become like you. Getting inspired from you. Setting your life as an example.

Start praising yourself. Feel good about yourself. You are worthy. You are content. You are happy. You are positive.
